Description:
Crown of Becoming is a portrait of the Divine Feminine in her full power—rising, invoking, transforming. Burned into wood with controlled flame, the figure emerges through waves of smoke and light. Her body is composed, her posture sovereign, her gaze lifted. Energy radiates not just from above, but from within. This is a woman in full alignment with the forces that shaped her.
The composition balances symbolism with presence. Her hands are open—not in surrender, but in command. The flames suggest both trial and rebirth. Her crown is not an ornament—it is the result of becoming. She is unshaken, mid-transcendence, held by a frequency only she can hear.
Created by R.V. Monroe, the collaborative duo of Robert and Venice Monroe, this work embodies dual perspectives. Robert brings technique rooted in heat and texture—drawing from ancestral memory, rhythm, and craft. Venice’s background in psychology and healing shapes the emotional resonance, gesture, and sacred stillness of the figure. Her presence gives the piece its breath.
The yellow frame was chosen intentionally. It represents radiance, sacred will, and clarity. It doesn’t contain the figure—it reveals her.
This piece is part of a broader series exploring sacred identity, transformation, and the spiritual dimensions of Black womanhood. Crown of Becoming is not about reaching perfection. It is about arrival through fire—fully whole, fully divine.
